Hi, I’m Myles Tallada — owner of Bear Track Archery in Peru, NY. Archery has been a lifelong passion for me. I started bowhunting at a young age, taught myself the fundamentals, and spent years refining my abilities. When I turned 18, I was finally able to work as an archery technician at Gander Mountain, where I expanded my skills while working in a busy, hands-on retail environment for five years.
When I’m not repairing bows or helping people fine-tune their setups, you’ll usually find me outdoors. I’m an avid bass fisherman, a passionate deer and upland bird hunter, and I spend as much time as I can snowboarding, hiking, and exploring with my family.
Living in the Champlain Valley — with the Adirondack Mountains on one side and Lake Champlain on the other — gives me the perfect home base for all of these adventures. The landscape here has shaped who I am, fueled my love for the outdoors, and inspired the approach I bring to Bear Track Archery: stay curious, keep learning, and enjoy every moment outside.
Today, with over 16 years of shooting, hunting, and bow setup experience, I run Bear Track Archery as a part-time, appointment-based hobby shop out of my garage. It’s the perfect balance of my mechanical engineering background, my love for problem-solving, and my desire to help others enjoy archery at its best.
What sets Bear Track Archery apart is my engineering-driven approach to tuning and repair. I enjoy tackling difficult problems, diagnosing issues others overlook, and making sure every bow that leaves my shop fits the shooter comfortably and performs exactly the way that I demand my own equipment performs. Whether you’re shooting indoor 3-spot, outdoor 3D, bowhunting, or crossbow hunting, I want to help you get the most out of your equipment.
With other local shops closing their full-time operations — and with crossbow regulations evolving here in New York — I saw a real need for a precision-focused, service-only tuning shop in the Champlain Valley and Adirondack region. Bear Track Archery exists to fill that gap and to share my joy for this sport with anyone who steps into my workshop.
